Okay folks, the time has come. After many (appreciated) requests, ninety percent of which have come from my mother, I have decided to keep you updated with my travels.
I promise to try valiantly to do a better job than I did the last time I set out to keep everyone informed. As many of you know, my Asian experience, though one that I will keep near and dear to me always, did not quite pan out as I had anticipated or hoped. That's life, though! You take each experience as it comes, learn, reflect, and keep moving forward.
My current position will have me traveling between 200 and 250 days out of the year. Much of this will be domestic travel, but with a few international trips thrown my way occasionally (hopefully).
I must say, after living abroad for 7 months, I am pretty excited to see the Homeland. The United States has so many wonderful people, places and things to offer that I am more than eager to take those "middle of nowhere" trips and see what I can find. I have a hunch that it's precisely those seemingly uninteresting opportunities that will provide me with the most interesting stories. Time will certainly tell.
Thus far, my travels have taken me to the nation's capital once, to visit Mickey and his home twice, Sin City and to good ole' Dallas (where I am currently typing this blog entry).
Coming up for my birth month will be a full two weeks spent in Miami. I've never been and it will be spring break during that time, so I'm sure I will have a plethora of stories to share with you! If not, I'll try to at least take some good photos--granted they will always come from my iPhone and I'm no Ansel Adams..but I will try to capture those sights/people/food stuffs that capture me.
Here is what I've got so far----

My first program took me to Orlando where they threw us a fabulous staff party. The Disney fireworks from the balcony were symbolic of my first program going out with a bang! |

Spectacular view of the capital from the Newseum. I recommend everyone visit this museum should the opportunity arise. More information here |

The Hilton Anatole in Dallas, TX has amazing art throughout. Specifically Asian art as you will see in the photo below. This however, is a piece of the Berlin Wall. Fascinating to say the least. |

Sleeping Marble Buddha (Hilton Anatole, Dallas, TX) |

My first Vegas experience! I lost $4 and called it a night ;) |
 |
Because of a mishap on the hotel's part, we were upgraded to suites with a fantastic view of the strip. Not too shabby, eh? |
 |
This is where I spent my final day at the Swan and Dolphin last week in Orlando.

That's all I've got for now, but there is much more to come! Thanks for reading.
